The Coastal GasLink Pipeline is 416 miles, running from Dawson Creek, BC to the LNG facility near Kitimat, BC. The location(s) of the pipeline meant that multiple protection products were needed to prevent damage to the pipe and to the environmentally sensitive area(s). The pipeline’s path led through a series of obstacles, specifically mountainous terrain. PipeSak, alongside Northlink Supply, provided RockStop® pipeline rockshield to Coastal GasLink to give the pipe optimal protection against the rocky backfill. PipeSak also supplied PipeSak® Geotextile Pipeline weights to sink the pipe in wet areas and PipePillos® to support the pipe and prevent damage in the form of ovality. These three products allowed the pipe to be safely lowered into the trench. PipeSak provided products that were durable enough to outlive the lifespan of the pipe, ensuring pipeline integrity.
