The Golden Meadow pipeline is a 10” O.D. pipe located in Golden Meadow, LA. The pipe had to be laid parallel to a road prior to placing it in the trench. For safety reasons, the additional weight needed to be applied to provide stability for the pipe while out of trench. Although PipeSak® Geotextile Pipeline Weights are primarily used in-trench, the use of the weights out of trench was a safe and cost-effective solution. 32 PipeSak® weights for 16” O.D. were used for a heavier weight instead of the smaller 10” O.D. weight. The weights were easily removed with no damage to the pipe when it was time to lower in.
