Pipeline Repair Ayr ON

In mid 2020 PipeSak® Inc. was asked to provide PipeSaks® for a 42” O.D. pipe in Ayr Ontario. The pipe had previously been covered in concrete coating, for buoyancy control and rock protection. Over time the coating had cracked and worn away leaving some parts of the pipe exposed. In some cases, coating failure could cause localized external corrosion. The pipeline section was identified for repair and replacement by an integrity group. Pipeline owning companies are constantly evaluating new construction and integrity methods to make sure their assets are operating at their best. In this case, PipeSaks provided a safe and sustainable alternative to the previously used concrete coating method. PipeSak pipeline weights are manufactured from the heaviest grade geotextile in the industry and are rated for underground use. We routinely certify all components – fabric, webbing, and thread – to meet a minimum 4 times safety factor. PipeSaks are made to stand the test of time while also being safe for the environment around them. This job required 11 of our QF42 PipeSaks and was completed by the end of July 2020.
